Wii Tenis Tips and Tricks

Currently I’m sitting in my office at 2:30AM waiting to bring back a storage system that took a dive during a routine patch and figured I would compose my list of cool wii tricks that I know about.  (not going to grammar check – just post) I am going to break them up a little over time as I am currently addicted to the Wii Sports Tennis.

Stupid Tricks:
- Try to play doubles against yourself playing all 4 players.
Game Hacks:
- Press and hold (2) at the warning screen following your selection of your mii’s - this will turn the court blue.

Tips:
- Power serve - swing as hard as you can (without injury =) and at the peak of the serve flick your wrist.  This should give you the serve that you are after - I have also found that moving the wii mote from side to side in the peak of the swing also works (much like a flick of your wrist)
- Quick return - On your opponents strong serve side, swing a little early on the return and it will land the ball in the front side of the court out of play of your opponent.  Practice on timing and this return will force your opponent to pick a different strategy.

- The lob - When your opponent has caught on to your “Quick Return” you can just barley hit the ball over the net on the serve forcing an easy return back to your side of the net.  To do this you want to hit the ball at about the lowest point imaginable on the serve.  It will look like a week serve but you should always feel free to play on the offensive.  - Second Bounce - its possible almost every time to judge the ball right on a lob over the net to force a second bounce that seems to dribble across the court.  This is done by smashing the ball and the right timing.

- Net play - its possible to play off of the net but somewhat unpredictable. This can play as good strategy as often it’s hard to get your mii in place for the return.  I have found this to be most easily repeated by almost taking a chop at the ball on its downward fall.  (Like hammering a nail) With the right timing this can really mess with your opponent.

Oh Boy, I give up .. have a look at this post =-)  http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-gaming/6066-wii-tips-n-tricks.html

Another good one that messes with players on the other side of the net is when you hit the ball, flip your remote just as you hit the ball so the buttons are either facing directly up at the ceiling, or down at the floor. That puts spin on the ball and makes it hard for them to return it.
