Unboxing Ricavision’s Vista MCE SideShow remote

A few days back we received our first hands on look at the new Ricavision SideShow remote control.

I will be doing more extensive reviews when I can track down the missing software to make this remote work.

So far the look and feel of this device puts it as a must have for Vista Medacenter - however we will have to hold off on my review for the time being.

Here is a (choppy and quick) video of the unboxing of the unit.

I picked it up some time back - its a very cool remote. I was planning on making a sideshow for my automation so I can turn lights on and off and lock the doors as I arm the security .. I think that it will be very powerful once more is created for it.

I will be selling this one soon if anyone would like to try it next.

Well if you will be selling it, how much will you ask for?

The remote is cool – it’s a fun concept that you can interact with your media center. If I had more time and I could make my own sideshow tools for the home automation it would be perfect!

The remote itself works much better then the MCE remote from MS as far as IR is concerned.

The now playing feature is cool – cool I can get some RSS Feeds of events in the house when I come home ..

Set up right this is a handy little remote.

I would be willing to sell for $299 or trade it for a pronto or a Harmony 1000
