The Script can be found here

You will also need (http://www.wiili.org)

* DirectX 8.0

You can also check out a video of it here.

Set your mii as your computer profile image

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

Although I like the idea in Windows to add a picture to your profile, I can never seem to come up with a picture that I would like to use or an image that seems to work for me. I got to thinking that with the recent mii craze and the fact that my mii I use on my home wii looks close to me and I could use that. Hey, its better than a robot or a fish!

Here are the steps to get this done without having to hack your wii to get your mii’s.

1) Find a mii or create your mii on your pc . You can do that here: http://www.miieditor.com

2) When you are done making your mii save your image to a 100×100 image in a safe place in your PC. (mine is under my pictures folder)

3) Set this up as your image for login by following the steps below IN VISTA. (XP is close to the same but I dont have an XP box to try this on at the moment)
   a) Open your control panel. (Start >> Settings >> Control Panel”
   b) Open “User Accounts and Family Safety:
   c) Click on “Change your account picture”
   d) Click on the very bottom of the icons on the text “Browse for more pictures…”
   e) Go to the location that you saved your picture (In my case its under Pictures)
   f) Select the picture that you saved in step 2.

4) Enjoy!

A very easy process and not all that challenging however, something worth the 5 min that it takes to do.

I have started to use this same image on i’m and skiff as well.

Wii Mediacenter X stream video and audio from your Wii

Monday, March 19th, 2007

Way back I used a product for me PS2 that allowed me to stream divx, pictures and audio over a network.  At the time it was a new spin to the mediacenter concept and my HTPC was a PIII 600 with video out.

Over at Red Kawa they have been working on a product that will allow the same.  I cant say that its ready for prime time at the moment but if its a look into the future, hacking on the wii may be endless.

Product page:

Good video with an overview that I found after the fact… figures

Hack your Wii + come play with Mii

Friday, March 9th, 2007

I want a new Mii – now!

For those of us that simply cant leave a good thing alone, you now have the opportunity to do a little hacking of your own.  Ever want that Mii that resembles you so close that its spot on but cant quite get it to look right?  Want a Mii that looks like Jack form 24, Peter from Family Guy or Bart from the Simpsons ?

  • Then go here ..
    http://www.miimall.com

    You can:
Load and save Mii binary files

  • Load and save XML or edit it directly within the interface
  • Complete control over all Mii properties, even those that can’t be changed on the Wii
  • Visual representation of your Mii characters
  • Export your Mii to a JPEG

When you are done with the tweaks you use the application provided to upload this back to your wii-mote.  (Note: you will need Bluetooth support on your PC to do that)It takes a little work to figure out the application but its kind of fun none the less. Share your Mii with your friends and be the coolest Mii on the block.

For the True Geek, you can do the same thing just a little more “hands on”

Also – when you are done, make sure you check out the new Wii channel that allows you to share and vote on your Mii.  Am I hot or not style?  Hahah

Wii Tenis Tips and Tricks

Wednesday, March 7th, 2007

Currently I’m sitting in my office at 2:30AM waiting to bring back a storage system that took a dive during a routine patch and figured I would compose my list of cool wii tricks that I know about.  (not going to grammar check – just post) I am going to break them up a little over time as I am currently addicted to the Wii Sports Tennis.

Stupid Tricks:
- Try to play doubles against yourself playing all 4 players.
Game Hacks:
- Press and hold (2) at the warning screen following your selection of your mii’s - this will turn the court blue.

Tips:
- Power serve - swing as hard as you can (without injury =) and at the peak of the serve flick your wrist.  This should give you the serve that you are after - I have also found that moving the wii mote from side to side in the peak of the swing also works (much like a flick of your wrist)
- Quick return - On your opponents strong serve side, swing a little early on the return and it will land the ball in the front side of the court out of play of your opponent.  Practice on timing and this return will force your opponent to pick a different strategy.

- The lob - When your opponent has caught on to your “Quick Return” you can just barley hit the ball over the net on the serve forcing an easy return back to your side of the net.  To do this you want to hit the ball at about the lowest point imaginable on the serve.  It will look like a week serve but you should always feel free to play on the offensive.  - Second Bounce - its possible almost every time to judge the ball right on a lob over the net to force a second bounce that seems to dribble across the court.  This is done by smashing the ball and the right timing.

- Net play - its possible to play off of the net but somewhat unpredictable. This can play as good strategy as often it’s hard to get your mii in place for the return.  I have found this to be most easily repeated by almost taking a chop at the ball on its downward fall.  (Like hammering a nail) With the right timing this can really mess with your opponent.

Oh Boy, I give up .. have a look at this post =-)  http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-gaming/6066-wii-tips-n-tricks.html
